My husband is a big fan of Naif Chicken so we occasionaly get takeouts on our way home from work. The last time we got him a takeout however… we noticed the new line printed below the logo on their chicken box… the one showing in the picture.
Now for the past 30 years we have been living on the face of earth and ordering from Naif -or any other place for that matter- we have never bought something with a “religious” reminder before eating. So why now? What happened? Did they just discover the need for people to bless their food with gods name before eating? Or did they have a poll and realized people were not saying gods name so they had to intervene and “gently” remind people? Or because it’s the new style of life… preach people 24 hours aday cause every one is doing it already?! My first reaction when we saw the writing on the box was “Haw? Shako?”
If i want to say god name on my food i don’t need a chicken box to remind me to. If i do not want to say gods name on food i will not say it even if that chicken logo materialized out of the box and hit me with a cane on my head. Why now? Because it sounds “more islamic” and “islamic preaching” is more appealing now adays? Why is Islam being shoved in every single little detail when it wasn’t before? We must be preached about Islam EVEN if we are having takeout? It’s jut a box of chicken! What changed?
I don’t like their box anymore. I think that there is absolutely no need to print that sentence and that their preaching is distasteful. In other words… malah ma3na…

I like it.
one thing I rememeber when were kids is my mother telling us “sametaw gabil la taklon?” …. typical omi 😉 and i would always forget and then asami while ib nis my meal
I personally would NOT put one of those stickers (sub7an allah) or (ethkir allah) on the window sheild of my car, but everytime I see one i cannot help but think chum wa7id have read this and said la elaha illa allah, and how much of ajer did this driver get min wara hal nas!!

looool this is soooo ironic… dayman lama bakil shay oo shakka fee my grandma just says samay oo iklay.. they probably know that their food is known for its nastiness.

i think its a good thing.. n its just a lil reminder mo like the big huge campaigns..
seriously somehow ppl have drifted to faar away now adays it seems even this little supposedly given this is forgotten.. it shouldn’t be looked @ like an Islamic thing n so.. its something that should be in us already..

Exactly it’s something that should be in us already. We do not need constant reminders everywhere to remember god. Walls bridges pamphlets delivered to our door steps and now this… If i do not want to or do not care to, i would not say bism Allah even if you print it all over my house… wella laish mootha hal ayam il tedeyen lazim yerkboon il mooja?

awalan a short sentence like the one they’ve put is not preaching.. maybe if they attached a giant book and forced u to read it b4 eating u may consider that preaching.. shfeech ela reminder :s
