Fining people who park in Handicapped Spaces… Zain ysawoon fehom.

I was in 360 parking recently when i noticed that the Handicapped Parking Signs have been changed. I think they have had enough. The only way to stop people parking in Handicapped spaces is to fine them apparently. Not that it mattered much for a group of 3 cars already parked there but still. I wonder how will they fine them? Using what law? Traffic law? 360 law? Did they actually fine anyone? I saw a lady get into her car yesterday nonchalantly so i doubt she was fined or anything?

On another note i read in Al-Qabas this morning that Dr. Yosef Al Zelzela Suggested in the parlimant that they fine people who park in Handicapped places 500 KD. Read Here.

It’s really sad that the only way to have some compassion is by emptying people’s pockets. But i don’t see any other way for it to work. I hope the fine goes through as a law and they ACTUALLY enforce it.

What do you think?

I hope it does get enforced. Handicapped parking is for handicaps after all

Exactly… and i do hope the fine is as large as 500 KD. Although i can already see people speaking to MP’s and such to get themselves some sort of Wasta so they wouldn’t pay it.

  2. They should fine them!
Shino hal laziness eli they can be bothered to walk a couple of steps min a further parking?

Ehe bs laziness? It’s utter disrespect for the handicapped. 3ezaw ygolon lohom if you take my place take i3aqatee mako fayda wala yeste7oon a9lan!

i can’t even see 360 mall’s old handicapped signs since they are done using faded paint on the ground.

But those signs are erected at the eye level of the driver per parking so the offenders do not have an excuse now.

  4. The cars should have a Handicapped ticket issued by a doctor so that the other cars get fined.. Maybe they do in kuwait madri but in Europe they do..

In q8 they have stickers issued by the goverement. Only a car with that sticker is allowed to park in the Handicapped parking lot.

Unfortunately 99% of the time you see cars without that stickers parking and you see healthy guys and girls dressed up to the nines and walking out of it.

I actually know of a woman who BRAGS about parking in the handicapped parking space and no one daring to speak to her about it. Discpicable.

  5. Not only should they get fined, but they should also get the boot placed on their car. If they keep doing this then people would really get fed up with the hassle of having to remove the boot. Oh, and they should put one of those hard-to-remove stickers on their window as a sort of “shame” thing. That’s what I think they should do!

hmmm now that is not such a bad idea! I also like the idea of the sticker! I often see the sticker of No parking on cars and immediately i know what they have done! There should be a Handicapp Parking Theif Sticker issued by the malls or the police or whatever !!!

  6. Yup! But the thing is, mall security guards are sometimes too afraid to do things. People unfortunately don’t respect them and tend to walk all over them. Shows you the lack of respect many people around here have towards others…

  7. Malls should put up a sign saying ”If you take my parking space, take my disability.” I doubt it would be effective much thou.

What would, in my opinion, be effective is The Kuwait Society for the Handicapped starting an ad campaign with the same slogan or something to raise awareness.

Actually they have been doing that forever… people simply do not care!
There is a saying that goes “el nass tekhaf ma tekhteshesh” as in ppl are never shy… they can only be afraid. Unless they fear paying they will not care or have shame. Period!

  8. 500 KD sounds good enough! How sad is it that God gave these people their health and legs to walk and blessed enough with wealth enough to buy a car to go from one place to an other…3ayzaneen yamshoon or to wait a bit for a parking space?! 3aib wallah :/
I really hope they enforce it, then people can act like real human beings

  9. i saw an add once on tv, where a normal person parked in a disable parking, then this disable guy came, saw the care and shook his head and in the end the message said “you took my parking, why don’t you also take my disability??”
    “a5athta mawqifi, lima la ta5uth e3aqati”

and i thought that was a powerful message…

People don’t care coz they are selfish!
