Today the count down begins… the last month of my 20’s is passing by! With every passing day i shall wave bye bye to my youth and welcome my “middle ageism” :`(
Yet I am very grateful for Allah to have granted me to live to this date with my health, my money, my family members, my country safe and sound, a roof over my head! Alf El 7amd Le Allah 3la el 9e7a wel3afiya wel Amn Wel Aman…
Then again i cannot believe it! When did this happen? I was 21 yesterday! Big Three-OH! Age is nothing but a number mo? I for my self i have decided i am 19… wishful thinking eh? Well this is how i feel inside… i am 19!
But the facts stay. In 30 days i must celebrate my 30th bday… and my husband is ticking the days and taunting me for becoming 30 -i taunted him about his 30 it BAAAAAD- … and i am not sure how to feel… i know for a fact that it’s the last Birthday worth celebrating… for it’s the Bday where you reach the top of the hill… every Bday afterwards is going downhill… i look around and see my 30+ friend celebrating and i wonder if i would feel like celebrating my nearing the 40th? I don’t know… but i do have a little delimma… i do NOT know what i want as a gift for my 30th?
I want something that i would be able to show my grandchildren Insha2 Allah in 30 years time… Etha Allah 3a6anna 3omor -and children to start with- bs Madry SHINO!
Off the top of my head here is what i have got…
1- I want a time machine to take me back 12 years… where shall i apply?
2- Although i am not a Jewelry person… the only piece of Jewelery that i actually want is a Harry Winston Solitaire! The thing is… i want to buy it as a gift for my self! I don’t want anyone to buy it for me! Not even my husband. De3la mo???
3- I want a birthday cake malat awadm. YES! Abi a cake whose design is amazing and shape is more amazing and acts as the cake to top all other birthday cakes… and i want a moder and exotic flavor and filling(s)! Butootee has been warned and directed to the place…
4- A Pinkberry machine at home would be nice? I wouldn’t mind living on Pinkberry throughout my 30’s…
5- If one more person mentions the word Ipad… i will break the first Ipad i see by smashing it to the wall… in 30 years would i want to show my grandchildren the ipad? yeth7ekon 3la yaddat.hom il dathra mo? Tbonee atma9khar!
6- I am perfectly content with my 2009 curve blackberry and my 2007 Ipod which was my 27th birthday present from Butootee. I do not NEED any more electronics.
7- European perfumes make me sick. I only wear Arabian ones… and i have more than enough to hand down to my grandchildren.
8- My Eos is amazing. It was my 29th Birthday Present and i plan on keeping it for a life Time. Since i had taken my fathers old Cannon he used in the 80’s i am sure i will be using my Cannon for the next 30 years o taking pictures of my grandchildren with Insha2 Allah.
9- Travelling somewhere is out of the question. My birthday is on a Saturday and a road trip to hungry bunny el Khafji is not really my idea of celebrating my Birthday. Besides i want my bed and my pillow and my couch.
10- Bags shoes shoma6ee6 halaheel spas vouchers etc. etc. all out… how will i show them to my grandchildren?!
11- Well i do want a little tiny one storey modern white house with French doors opening to the little garden to live in… whose willing to lend me 500,000 KD?
12- ooh i got something… i want to find one good hairdresser in Q8 who would give me the blonde i want… not the blonde that turns to orange! She seems impossible to find! Any ideas?!!! Yes in 30 years i will show my grandchildren my picture Insha2 Allah and i can say “your grandma was blonde before she got gray hair”…
I am out of ideas. Completely out of Ideas… and here is where you should step in…

Do you like art? Maybe a painting, sculpture, etc something that you could put in your home and cherish.
Can you celebrate with something small now, but plan a little getaway for both of you for the occaision? Somewhere romantic and pretty, resort in whatever setting you like (seaside, mountains, country, city).
SInce you want to buy yourself the ring, let him buy you a earrings or bracelet that will match your ring.
He can get you a 2-3 day trip to London, NYC, Paris, whereveryou prefer, and make an appointment with a top stylist and spa weekend
Ok this is some of the stuff off the top of my head… What I do love to do is creatively give a present with a theme ( like cake, small little gifts around the major one to lead up to the big surprise)
Hope whatever you do end up getting is something you love and treasure

Didn’t try either one, but since I wanted an ice cream maker, I started looking into them, and these had many positive reviews from a variety of places. I’m only hesitating because nowing how much I love ice cream, I would be tempted to have it breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks lol.
btw if you are looking for salon thay does good color/highlights let me know. There is a place I’ve been going to and she does a good job, and I’m superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr picky about my hair color. :*

go for a rolex, i found my dads rolex from the 60s and its so cool
otherwise stick to the solitaire idea .. and if u wanted to get it for yourself get the bigger carat now for the gift and buy the cheaper one later or viceversa whatev.

i had my first when i went to college at age 18… i just dyed my hair last week but it’s only one color… abi somewhere where they would give me amazing blonde highlights o good base dye… also as humans grow old their scalp becomes more sensitive and i might not be able to dye it hence why then it will be all grey completely 😥

Etha Allah 3a6ana 3omor o se7a o 3afiya o i became 70 i could open it and tell my grandchildren that though i was sad to be 30 … it was a baby back then :p how i wish i was turning 30 again!!!

Eee very! November is where i directed my husband to go because there is a good chance they won’t make the cake… they were too busy to make my husband’s 30th o i went somewhere else and it was horrible…

Me too I am 34 bas I truely don’t feel it AT ALL! it’s odd, the number goes up but in your head not.. I don’t have a problem with telling people how old I am but I just don’t feel that age looool
I agree on the cake ako wayed look good but rarely you eat a REALLY REALLY tasty one!

I think a nice piece of jewelry (nothing too flashy) or a beautiful professional camera are extravagant but seem fitting for the big 30! Just to be on the safe side though I created a birthday wish list at myregistry.com IN CASE everyone was at a loss as to what to get me 🙂
