How to Get Rid of Hiccups?

Hiccups can be the most annoying thing on earth… especially if they arrive on the worst inconvenient time – and thats when they usually do- i for one have suffered from hiccups for a long long time and tried every thing to get rid of them… until the day i discovered my golden method and i use it ever since. Hiccups stop immediately and it never failed me… ever…


  1. Get one cup of water… 250 ml
  2. Take a deep breath
  3. Start drinking the water at once, non stop, until u feel like ur going to suffocate… THATS what you want… do not stop
  4. When you put the glass down… and your breathing is lovely and normal… the hiccups will be gone 😀

This has worked for me forever! What’s your secret to getting rid of the hiccups?

    Sometimes Holding your breath might work,
    and yes drinking water as u described would will work as wekk 😀

    yeah that doesn’t work with me :/
    my hiccups are infijaraat !! they dont stop no matter what you do. so i started drinking water upside down and yes its possible and it works but my evil hiccups got used to it and it doesn’t work on me anymore :/ i think im related to Mr.hiccups :s

    I usually hold my breath for a few seconds ant then it’s all gone…. 😀


  5. Well… just try holding ur breath for few seconds and hiccups will vanish:)


  6. 🙂 hehe…yea its really really bad when u have to speak in a presentation and u start getting hiccups 😀
    i just hold my breath for some time…when nothing works then i just give up.. i do drink water too but it doesnt help sometimes..

  8. I know three ways to get rid of hiccups:

    1. Drink water (Just as you mentioned)
    2. Hold your breath for a while until you feel like you’re suffocating.
    3. Someone has to hide to scare you without you knowing. Or they have to scare/shock you with bad news!


  9. sugar is the key….drink a cup of water with 1 spoon of sugar and leave the spoon in the cup while u drink it…..or if u r out eat chocolate or chewy candy anything sugary…it will stop like magic


  10. Spoonful of granulated sugar. There is something about the texture that stops the spasm of the diaphragm that makes you hiccup.
