Confessions of a Shopaholic Movie

I am a HUGE fan of the series. I have many read the books over and over too many times. and I usually do not like it when a movie is adapted from a successful book because they sometimes leave thingies out. Important things.

But now? This?

This hideous excuse for a book adaptaion?!

Are you kidding me?

Why the story is making a somersault is beyond me. It is exactly as if someone took the original book, thrust it into a washing machine. Let it wash until all the papers where ripped apart. And then decided to make a movie out of the ripped pieces. Qass o Lazg…

There is almost NOTHING… NOTHING from the book. Except for the names, and the scarf being bought and sold and rebought afterwards.

If you want a chikflick thats fine. Nice and colorful and funny, thought  sometimes they mumble too fast you miss what they want to say. The casting of suze is spot on to be frank.

But the actor playing luke?! Helooooooo?! 3oo3?

Plus, he has a biritsh accent. Now why is that even important when the whole story takes place in NY? o all people are american?

Why do american movie makers must make everything revolve in their own country and existance? Take P.S. I love you for example. Written by a wonderful irsih writer (cecelia ahern) and set in ireland. The whole story is revolving around the couple being childhood sweethearts. But nooo, the heroin had to be an american who went to ireland and fell in love with the irish hottie and brought him all the way back to the US for him to die there…

Now this? The story is BRITISH… in the 2nd installement, becky MOVES TO NY…  so what if i wanted a sequel? She will move where now? Canada? Oh right right i forgot, she must move from NY to LA… good enough.

Imagine they made Luke her editor in the finance magazine!!! In the end he opens Brandon Communications… HE IS HER EDITOR THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE!!!!

Shino hal kharabeee6?!

Now im ANGRY!!! Really really REALLY ANGRY… way to go, take a successful series, twist it into a stupid PG rated chick flick movie.

Is it a coincedence? When the movie adaptation of twilight is almost word for word, the author is american, but when the author was irish or british (P.S. i love you and Shopaholic respectively) the movie adaptation was twisted… why is that?!

Yeah another thing i was REALLY disappointed with the clothes!!! It looks as if they are dressing Legally Blonde!!! Even the scarf looks hideous!!! i recall it was gray and blue in the book… i thought it would be something like sex & the city the movie but noooo… legally blonde disaster all over again!!!

Though i liked the wedding dress of suze. But come one, the birdesmaids dresses?!?!?!?! is it possible that the woman who chose that wedding dress is exactly the same woman who chose those dresses :`(
r we, the audience, supposed to be cows?!

The whole story is jumbled!!! Shay ye3awer il galb sara7a :`(

Read ur post o commented :`(
So disappointed in the thingy… i want to write an email to sophie like NOW…

and the tarquin part IS IMPORTANT!!!

Exactly! Her being british… tarquin and suzie thingy… even tarquin was cast as a good looking guy when he obviously was not!!! Offfff

Sej?! Same stylist? It looked like they were styled by the same woman who did legally blonde!!!

o 3leech bel 3afya!!! See how easy it was!? Exactly minutes!!!

  10. u know, it’s down times and perhaps they don’t have enough money to budget for london scenes, hence they use the existing NY setting for a movie !
but that’s just me trying to rationalize their irrational behavior!

  11. Ohhhhhhh my god I totally agreee.. it’s a load of CRAP,, a waste of time! I had read the whole series and was really looking forward to this, u can imagine the dissapointment! who ever commisioned this should get FIRED!!!!!

I was so excited when I found out there was going to be a shopaholic movie, I couldnt wait for it to be in Theaters. Then I found out it was going to be set in NY, and I decided I’d wait for it to come out on video. It was out on video for a while, when I decided to finally rent it. I HATED IT. It was nothing, NOTHING like the book. The only thing it has in common is the title and the names of the characters. I was furious when I saw it. There’s 2 hours of my life I’m never getting back.
