I’m starry eyes… because of Edward Cullen!!!!!!!!! December 31, 2008

I recall a blogger once wrote something about someone called Edward Cullen… I didnt care much at the time.

Saw the movie, went straight into waterstones, bought Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse…

and every since i have been living in a haze! Literally! My severe cold/flu/fever has nothing to do with it, if anything, it was subdued because of the awe i am in.

Then while i was mourning the end of book 3, i find out that there is infact a FOURTH BOOK! Breaking Dawn!

I finished all three books in about 48 hours. Yes, i did not sleep, i barely ate, infact i think i dropped a dress size!!! All because of Edward and Bella (well edward mostly!)

It helps when u have seen the movie first!!!!

So… i finish the third book in the middle of the night, made my discovery about the fourth one, and all i wanted to do is RUN TO WATERSTONES, BANG OPEN the DOOR, and get my claws on one!!!!!!

I had to wait 18 HOURS before i had access to a stupid bookstore,,,

u know what is written on the back of the 760 pages book?!

A critic wrote about it “Move over, Harry Potter!” and he is 100% correct! I have finally find the cure to the emptiness left by harry’s last book! Move over o climb out of the window Harry! -by the way, i was one of the first people in Kuwait to buy the last book in Virgin in the airport at 12 midnight, finished it next day  by noon!!! Crazy? Not anymore!-

So… imagine my surpirse now when, while i was checking for my flight online, numb with the realization im coming home and only have 300 more pages of Bella and Edward to go, that there is a FIFTH BOOK!!!

the fifth is a retelling of the first book by Edward!!!! Can it get any better?

Apparently not, the 12 chapters of the book were leaked into the media, the author was too angry she halted the writing of the book and published the draft herself!!! I HAVE DOWNLOADED IT FROM HER WEBSITE!!! IT IS IN MY FLASH DRIVE AS A PLANE COMPANION!!!

2nd book is the best by the way. Allah ya bechayt 3lehoom bacheeee…

Im coming home insha2 allah tommorow…

My cold just wont go. I cannot taste food for a week now, i cannot get out and walk and shop. I have a theory for that i will share with you when im back home insha2 allah… it is because of one lady who has 7asad venom in her eyes more lethal than Edward’s!

I have a cold. It’s all because of Bu Tootee who insists on taking a shower and going out in the cold. Now he is well but he threw his virus on me.

Oooh by the way… my tooth filling fell! Turns out the dentist has cracked my tooth and now it looks horrible!!! and when i take my vicks gum (yes they have a great vicks gum for the cold here i will be bringing tons of it back home if u want any just let me know)… anyways when i take my vicks gum bits of crunchy tooth/filling are happily entwined!!! Gross!

I hate being sick! with a stupid cold none the less…!!!

Ma boga shay o arj3 il Q8 i tried to change my flight to the begining of Jan but it will do so for an obsene amount of money! I would rather spend that money on something from the sales so im coming home at time….

I am in a bit of trouble. I have one whoe suitcase (big one)… filled to the brim with chocolate!!!!! I do not know how i accumilated all that chocolate. Not many clothes i bought but chocolate? I am buying like crazy!!! i think i will put a bas6a in the middle of the avenus and start selling it to pay of the shipping cost!!!

Anyways i am sorry i didnt post the pictures yet. I was sick… i will do it soon insha2 allah ….

Today was the last day for our local woolworths

It was saaaaaaaaaaaaaaad !!!! nothing is left… the cashier woman was shivering while handling my money… it was really bad

It really is an end of an Era… like Pheobe said, or someone in Friends did anyways!!

Anyways i took pictures of the whole thing. I would have uploaded it now but the USB thing wont take my memory card. I will transfer my pictures at home into a USB and come back tommorow to post the final pictures of Woolwoorths with comments…

I have been to Asha’s, exactly the same as the one in Q8 with  better ingrediets of course. The Briani was runnier, the portions a bit smaller… and no servings of papadamus and little thingies we munch on in Q8. and the Bar is OFFICIALLY a bar.

Anyways im not sure which came first? the one In Dubai or the One in UK! im a bit confused. But im happy to be able to have my Paneer Ka Soola wherever i go!

An Email to Birish Airways… December 18, 2008

Hi all,

I have just finished composing this email to british airways…

“Dear British Airways,

I am a firm believer that there is no other airline that provides a better flight experience than yours. I simply refuse to use any other airlines for my european trips. That was until i boarded a flight from Zurich back to the UK last Wednesday.

My one week trip for switzerland was smooth and trouble free. The flight from Heathrow to Zurich was fine. I was surprised by the lack of an in flight meal and it being replaced by a bag of nuts and a tiny small drink. I guess the credit crunch had its toll on every one. My only complaint is that had i known before hand i would have some lunch before boarding the plane.

The real problem was, in the return flight to the UK from Zurich on Wednesday 16 December.

We had the 16:45 flight. We got in early since we had to claim our TAX from the Tax Free office in the airport. While we were trying to print out boarding passes using the self service kiosk, we were told that the flight was cancelled!!!!

Needless to say we were in sheer panic. Though we were told that we can be rebooked to an earlier flight, the 14:30 flight. But we had to “hurry”! So hurrying we did, we ran in the airport with our luggage towards customs, only to be called back by the british airways desk who told us we had to come back and collect some “compensation” voucher or thing for our flight being cancelled. We simply couldnt not go back to the check in desk! We had a choice of either going back and miss our flight or go ahead and finish our tax and customs and fly back to the UK.

We were placed on row 21, which is exactly why i check in online 24 hours on the dot before our flight time just to make sure i had better seats. We were not very impressed of course.

The plane was running late. When we were finally boarded, we got the same little tiny can of diet coke and bag of peanuts again, where as other airlines still serve a hot meal on their inter european flights (altalia serves spaghetti!!!) Good call on the coconut and peach cookies distributed to customers who ordered a hot beverage. They are really good.

Then when we arrived to the UK, the cherry on top of our horrible flight experience… our baggage did not make it with us!!! We were left stranded in the airport waiting at the conveyor belt for the luggage. and then we had to join a long line of customers complaining about their lost luggage!

Needless to say by the time we got home, we were so tired and exhausted and miserable that all the relaxing and happiness of our trip has deflated and was a long distance memory!

I have never, ever, had a worse flight in my life. and the worst thing is? It was operated by my once favourite ever airline. I can tell you that never again am i boarding a flight from the UK to any other European country.

Yes, we took one week off from the UK and went to Switzerland for Bu toote’s sake. We went to Bern (My most favourite), Lucerne (Ugh! Never Again!), and Zurich (love the place, Bern is better though)…

I promise i will post pictures.

Im planning to go tommorow to Woolworths and take pictures of the closing down sale. Our nearest branch will close on Saturday! It is soooooo sad

I still cannot believe it will be closed!

I will post some more soon i promise. My Mom and sisters are coming to the UK for the sales!!! Hooraaaaaaaaaaay

and there is no need to wait for boxing day! Every where there is 50% sale cause il nass imfalseen w3lya ihnee…

A trip to birmingham :D December 5, 2008

Why did worspress change their dashboard interface? Im kinda lost ishwaya…

Yesterday we made a little trip to birmingham. For some reason shopping in their selfridges is more fun than shopping in the Original London Selfrigde even though it hass less collection, but the stuff does stay neat and tidy and not many people attacking it. Wayed 7ejabat bs mo min ikhwana il khalejyeen  ilee gamaw yeheloon hal ayam 3lena.

Ee o il food in selfridges is much more fun, e.g. the indian restuarant over looks the whole food hall o you sit on long white modern chairs on white and baby blue modern tables, surrounded by lights and overlooking a ridiciolous 1000 pounds bottle of evian water encrusted with swaroviski crystals!!!!!!

On the way to the train station 3shan al7ag 3leehom i was walking a little bit too fast and then BAAAM… i fell face first onto the floor… i scraped my knee too but il fashla is the most painful factor, i was sprawled there on the freezing floor o passers by gawking o laughing…

Why do people always ALWAYS laugh 3la il nass ilee ye6e7oon?

Anyways, if u can visit birmingham now please do, the christmas decoration is way better and more festive that the ones in London, plus, they have the Frankfurt Market, Small small wodden booths all day long (better at night) selling german stuff and FOOD… well kil sausagayaya a6wal min my arm o people munching away.. if u have no problem eating meat here u will be very happy… there is cheese, o chestnuts, o frankfurt potatoes, o cheese, o cakes o cookies o mini pancakes  o hot chocolate o u keep eating o eating from one booth to another in this cold weather and the lights hmmmmmmm

needless to say we need not eat dinner yesterday!!!

I took a lot of pictures, i will post them, i wanted to now but i forgot to put them on a flash before i came to the internet cafe…

It’s freezing in here…!

I went to a little place next to milton keynes called bicester village today. Its a little village with outlet stores for many brands (D&G, Anya, Burberry, Mulberry… etc.)

Wella kooshat 7jabat yetmashon minak… 6b3an their favourite place seems to be polo sports!!! Halaw rabe3na weslaw il q8yeen ilaa honaa …

They say a snow storm is about to hit, ashoof il syayeer every where have frost on them. Its sooo cold i didnt want to go out of the house today!!!

Laa, i learned that in order for my internet to work, i need to wait 14 days!!!! after the installation of my phone line…. i bought a coffee machine from nespresso, i want to use it here and bring it home with me to Q8, Lattisimo thingy, i was told it will be delivered on Monday. Until today it didnt arrive. Apparently the stupid italian girl wearing only a black bra with a sheer shirt on top in Selfridges have placed the order with the delivery to be done to…? No, not me with my already existing nespresso account,,, to her in selfridges!!!!

Now im writing a loong complaint letter to nespresso about this. Shino y3ni sarlee isboo3 waiting for my coffee? I need my coffee ma atghashmar ana!!!! 3ad they sent it by courier today they say … khal inshoof….

Mcdonalds have free Wi Fi in them…. i might go there for lunch tommorow and connect free… nahabnee il internet…

and VAT cut back? y3ni for the 60 pounds thing, u save one pound. 7safa ana 3balee like 10% cutback or something….

trip update :) December 1, 2008

Bloody BT wont connect my phone line till the 10th of December!!!! So i will be begging for internet connection until then

There are many changes around here. First, a whole building infront of M&S in Oxford Street has been torn down and something is being build instead. The lights in regent street are really really bad. Just a net of white lights thats it. Though the snowmen in Carnaby are wow…

VAT was reduced from 17.5% to something god knows what, maybe 7% now… so all prices went down. They are almost begging people to buy stuff. YET … the stuff to buy are not that wow. Until this moment i did not find a single thing i want to buy.

Movies are good though. Good collection although the UK is not well known for its good collection of movies. Sometimes we get movies in Kuwait opening faster.

The other day i went to Sainsburys since it is the nearest place to my place and bought some strawberries. I love to have strawberries drenched with whip cream. I eat them and they are sour… i am shocked, until i read where they came from … EGYPT!!! y3ni ana 6aga darb leen gal3at wadreen to buy egyptian strawberries that are sour?!?!?!??!?! one good reason to hating that stupid sainsbury more!!! OFFFF ….

Anyways, ako movies called Ghost Town that im going to now. I have written a long complaint letter to BT about their lack of service who waits 4 weeks for a phone line to be connected? Wain ga3deen???? So i checked my email and thought of giving you an update.

My favourite eating place here, ASK, has changed its staff into all indians. I just had a minstrone that tastes like marag bo6a6 made at our house, and a dry DRY pizza that is cheesless and tasteless!!! What is wrong now adays in here???? Financial depression. I am searching for a the email of ASK to complain to them and tell them spaghetti in a minestrone with bajeela is not a very good combination…

and finally, after one week of not being able to chew, i can now chew happily without pain

Still, the tooth hurts when i bite onto it. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN IT HAS NO NERVES???
